 Today marked the third day of the Monet Van Gogh J-Term. The previous day we had started painting using oil paints and this morning many of us picked up where we left off to make further progress within our paintings. Others continued to make art pieces using different mediums such as colored pencils. New watercolor paints were also brought into the classroom for any classmates who would like to explore that medium further. After working on our art pieces we left the school around noon to walk over to the art museum to observe the many impressionist painting they had on display there. Once we arrived we saw many impressionist paintings, including pieces done by Monet himself. As we observed the artwork, we were instructed to take photos of art pieces we found interest in and would want to write our art analysis over. We then sat down for a while to sketch many of the paintings that we saw. After this, we walked over to the cafe within the art museum and from there, walked back to the school. The remaining hours of the day were spent on continuing our art pieces as well as a group of us working on a large-scale puzzle of impressionist art.

  Today was our second to last day of our J-Term. We started the morning off by watching a movie about Vincent Van Gogh. We also finished up our presentations about different impressionists today. After we finished the movie and the rest of the presentations people continued to work on their artworks. Chase continued to work on her 2000 piece puzzle with the help from others and got excited when she found the final edge piece. We then spent the majority of the afternoon at the museum of fine arts exploring the exhibit about French Peruvian Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin. Then we went to the Living with the Gods exhibit. Before we made our return to the school, we stopped by the cafe for a snack. Once we got back to school, the crew continued working on their art pieces.

    Day 2 and learning about oil pastels and the Impressionists Today was a productive and engaging day filled with creativity and exploration. The morning began with a relaxed start as everyone settled in and participated in a variety of activities. From working on puzzles to sketching and enjoying some snacks, the atmosphere was calm and inviting—a perfect way to ease into the day.   Later, we turned our attention to the second episode of The Impressionists , titled The Great Outdoors . The documentary provided fascinating insights into the techniques and inspirations of the Impressionist movement, particularly their innovative approach to capturing natural light and landscapes.   Today, we started the day off by throwing ourselves right back into our previous projects - some students chose to work on their individual art pieces, others decided to continue our big puzzle, and some worked on their homework for the week. This is how we spent our focused morning, along with some great jams and delicious snacks to accompany. After taking a lunch break, we decided to spend the afternoon mingling and continuing work on our personal projects. The time dedicated for us to work on these projects allowed us to fully explore our creative potential by brainstorming ideas, working collaboratively, and apply our creativity into multiple projects (as well as, of course, working on assigned projects in school instead of at home).
